I’m trying to get a handle on the prophets (specifically the Old Testament [OT] prophets). We can learn much about mind, purposes, and work of God through the prophets.

Prophets by the Numbers
17 – There are 17 OT books of prophecy. (There are other OT prophets, such as Elijah and Elisha, prior, which don’t have entire books, and Ezra and Nehemiah, who do have entire [history] books.)
16 – There are 16 OT prophets who wrote the 17 OT books. Jeremiah wrote both his book and Lamentations.
4 & 12 – There are 4 major and 12 minor prophets.
