I’m trying to get a handle on the prophets (specifically the Old Testament [OT] prophets). We can learn much about mind, purposes, and work of God through the prophets.

Prophets by the Numbers
17 – There are 17 OT books of prophecy. (There are other OT prophets, such as Elijah and Elisha, which don’t have entire books.)
16 – There are 16 OT prophets who wrote the 17 OT books. Jeremiah wrote both his book and Lamentations.
4 & 12 – There are 4 major and 12 minor prophets.
